    Funeral Held Here For M. Blankespoor

    Funeral sevices were held here Tuesday for Maas Blankespoor, 81, who died at the local hospital Friday. Services were conducted at the Second Christian Reformed church under the direction of the Cooperative Burial Association and burial was at the Valley View cemetery at Rock Valley.

    Mr. Blankespoor was born Feb. 8, 1872, at Barneveld, Netherlands.
    He was married in 1910 to Magdelena Moerman. Four children were born to this union, two of whom preceded him in death, Hattie in 1930 and Cornelius in 1934. Mrs. Blankespoor died April 6, 1936.

    Mr. Blankespoor remarried in 1937 to Mary Van Kley, who now survives him with the following children: Celia, Mrs. Peter Schouten, and Henry of Sioux Center; a step-daughter, Gertrude, Mrs. Henry Bouw of Hospers, and eight grandchildren.
    Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: John, Everette, Gys, Mrs. John Vander Bilt and Mrs. Gerrit Van't Hul.

    One brother, Henry and two sisters, Mrs. John Koedam and Mrs. Meis van Beek, preceded him in death.

    Pall bearers were Henry J. Blankespoor, Henry E. Blankespoor, William Koedam, John E. Blankespoor, and James Blankespoor.

    Blankespoor Dies Here

    Evert Blankespoor, 81, a retired farmer, died at his home Monday following a brief illness.

    Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1:3o p. m. at the First Reformed Church with the Rev. Ralph TenClay officiating, and burial was in Valley View Cemetery under the direction of Porter Funeral Home.
    Mrs. Kenneth Kooima and Mrs. James Vander Sluis sang a duet accompanied at the organ by Mrs. George H. Van Beek.
    Serving as pallbearers were Henry J. Blankespoor, Henry G. Blankespoor; Henry M. Blankespoor, James Blankespoor, James Koedam and Kenneth Koedam.

    Mr. Blankespoor was born Feb. 22, 1886 in the Netherlands, He came to the United States in 1902 at the age of 16.

    He married Hattie Drok in Rock Valley in 1911. They farmed in this area before retiring in 1942 when they moved into town, he was preceded in death by his wife.
    Surviving are two sons, Henry and John, both, of Inwood, two daughters, Mrs. Dick Baker, Alvord and Mrs. Case Van Zanten, Rock Valley, two brothers, John of Doon and Gys of Rock Valley; sister, Mrs. Gerrit Van't Hul of Grand Rapids. Mich., 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services for Henry Blankespoor, 58, of Denver, Colo. were held at the Everet Blankespoor home at 1:30 and 2:00 o'clock in the Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley, Monday, April 17 with Rev. Herman Kuiper officiating.

    Mr. Blankespoor died at his home in Denver on April 12 after an illness due to cancer. A short funeral service was held at Denver in the Second Christian Reformed Church in Denver with Rev. Ouwinga officiating.

    Mr. Blankespoor was born at Barneveld, Netherlands July 24, 1891 and came to this country in 1901.

    In July 1917 he married Minnie Harmelink of Rock Valley, who died in 1919.
    In 1924 he married Gertrude Nyhuis at Sheboygan, Wis. Because of ill health he moved to Denver in 1934 where he spent a few years at Bethesda Sanitorium.

    He is survived by his wife, four brothers, Maas of Sioux Center, John of Doon, Everet and Gys of Rock Valley and three sisters, Jennie, Mrs. John Vanderbilt, of Plymouth, Ohio; Hattie, Mrs. John Koedam, of Hull; and Grace, Mrs. Garret Van't Hul, of Rock Valley and several nieces and nephews.

    Funeral Services Here Today For Mrs. J. KoedamShe was united in marriage with John Koedam on January 4, 1917. They lived near Lester, Iowa, for a few years and then moved to the Rock Valley vicinity, where she resided until her death.

    Five children were born to this union: William of Luveme, Minn.; Mrs. Joe De Goei (Henrietta) of Sioux Center; Mrs. Walter Clark (Alyda) of Sioux Falls; Elmer and Kenneth
    both at home.

    Funeral services for Mrs. John Koedam will be held, today (Thursday) at 12:45 at the home and at 1:30 at the Christian Reformed church, with Dr. H. Kuiper officiating. Burial will be made in the Valley View cemetery.

    Mrs. Koedam, nee Hattie Blankespoor, died on Monday, October 30, 1950, at the age of 56 years, 8 months and 16 days.

    She was born on February 14, 1894, in the Netherlands, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Blankespoor. The family moved to the United States in 1902.
    She was united in marriage with John Koedam on January 4, 1917. They lived near Lester, Iowa, for a few years and then moved to the Rock Valley vicinity, where she resided until her death.

    She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. M. Van Beek and a brother, Henry Blankespoor, who died in Denver, Colo., last spring.
