Dear Bram and Colby, I write this with a heavy heart as it is to announce that my dear, sweet Lyle passed away last week as the result of Dementia. It moved very quickly as he was only diagnosed with it around Oct. 15th or so and died Jan 22. He did not suffer and he was home here with me with the help of Hospice for 22 days and they were wonderful. It was a surprise when I found him in the morning dead after having fed him his evening meal a few hours before. Even Hospice nurse was surprised as they had just bathed and changed his catheter and bedding earlier in the day and then before 5 a.m.the next morning I called that he had passed. One blessing is that he did not suffer and was communicating with his son and wife and my daughter that weekend so no one came to see dad before he died, it was just a nice visit. His disease moved very rapidly. It was a joy to take care of him as he was always happy and glad to see friends, many church friends stopped by every day to say hello so he was always smiling and chatting when he was awake.
I'm hoping you are both well and enjoying the winter weather. I'm fine and I'll be moving to my daughter's rental house right next door to her in Hesperia, CA. Lyle and I had planned that, too, as in June we sold this property and could stay here one year to clean out the shop and hay barn. That was all finished by October when we had a big auction selling Airstream trailers, machinery, 10 classic cars, and tractors, etc. We were ready to move on to less work than 10 acres demands. We love it here and will miss the property and all our church family and wonderful neighbors.
      Love and blessings, Velma
