- The death of Cornelia Aten (nee Pater), age 84 years, of Springvale occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on February 26, 2019.
She was the beloved wife of Cornelis Aten and loving mother of John (Shelley Read), Gordon (Dale), Alan (Debbie) and Jane (Shawn Alexander). Loving grandmother of Janssen, Mitchell; Travis, McKayla, Nicole and Nathan; Lukas and Charles; and Derek, Brodie and Marlee.
She is also survived by brothers and sisters, Gerrie van Kampen, Gerrit (Wilma) Pater, Audrey Uyterlinde, Dinnie Larter, Evelyn Vessey and Jan (Jean) Pater; and sister-in-law, Marlene Pater.
Cornelia was predeceased by her parents, Cornelius and Gerritje Pater; brother, Cornelius Pater; daughter-in-law, Eleanor Aten; brothers-in-law, Claude Vessey, Gys van Kampen, Adrian Uyterlinde and Ben Larter.
Resting at Central Queen's Funeral Home, 2538 New Glasgow Road, New Glasgow. No visitation by personal request. Funeral service on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Central Queens Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to be held at a later date at Princetown Road United Church Cemetery, Springvale.
